Lil Durk Reportedly In Solitary Confinement In Jail Update
Lil Durk is reportedly in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. He was sent to the SHU on Friday (Oct. 30) said Jose Rojas, a union secretary of the Bureau of Prisons. In addition, sources claim Durk’s cell is “constantly searched” by prison staff. However, no contraband has been found since his recent acquittal. Furthermore, Durk was allegedly sent to solitary for “talking back” to the deputy warden after questions about his cell searches. Meanwhile, the prison has refused to confirm the SHU news.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons,” reads a statement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. “We do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including housing assignments, potential disciplinary infractions, or internal security measures.”
Rapper Found Not Guilty In Murder-For-Hire Plot
The Shade Room reported that Lil Durk is awaiting a separate federal racketeering trial stemming from allegations that he led a criminal organization known as the Banks Gang Enterprise. The rapper was previously acquitted of all charges in the federal murder-for-hire case involving Tyquian Bowman, otherwise known as rapper Quando Rondo. Bowman’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was fatally shot during the August 2022 incident at a gas station near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. Prosecutors alleged that Durk orchestrated the attack and that members of his alleged organization carried it out.
However, prosecutors added a murder-in-aid-of-racketeering charge, also referred to as a VICAR charge (Violent Crimes in Aid of Racketeering Activity), to the case in July 2026. The additional charge was cut from the murder-for-hire trial. It will be addressed in a separate proceeding.
Prosecutors allege that Durk led the Banks Gang Enterprise. They intend to use evidence of multiple violent incidents over the years to support their claims. They also allege that his co-defendants committed the 2022 murder to maintain or increase their positions within the organization. His attorneys will reportedly appear in court on November 4, seeking bond.
Lil Durk’s RICO Trial Postponed
Durk’s racketeering trial was postponed, as reported by The Shade Room. His lawyers filed for a continuance on Wednesday, September 30, and a judge granted the motion. The RICO trial was rescheduled for August 30, 2027, per LA Magazine. Not only that, but the judge cited the prosecutors’ added charges in granting the motion. The trial was scheduled to begin last month.
“The Court further finds that: (i) the ends of justice served by the continuance outweigh the best interest of the public and defendant in a speedy trial; (ii) failure to grant the continuance would be likely to make a continuation of the proceeding impossible, or result in a miscarriage of justice; (iii) the case is so unusual and so complex, due to the nature of the prosecution including the conspiracy charges against al1 defendants, the volume of discovery, and the number of defendants that it is unreasonable to expect preparation for pre-trial proceedings or for the trial itself within the time limits established by the Speedy Trial Act; and (iv) failure to grant the continuance would unreasonably deny defendant continuity of counsel and would deny defense counsel the reasonable time necessary for effective preparation, taking into account the exercise of due diligence,” states the ruling. “THEREFORE, FOR GOOD CAUSE SHOWN: 1. The trial in this matter is continued from October 5, 2026, to August 30, 2027, at 8:30 a.m.”
