Two figure skaters in Disney On Ice recently gave a California audience a show they will never forget! The skaters were performing at the SAP Center in San José on Sunday, October 25, when they were involved in an accident that terrified the crowd. During the segment of ‘The Little Mermaid,’ the skaters playing Ariel and Prince Eric did a bounce spin that had folks clutching their pearls.

As the duo skated to ‘Part of Your World,’ they attempted the bounce spin, also known as a headbanger. The move requires one skater to hold onto the other skater’s ankles as they lift and lower them while spinning. Furthermore, the maneuver causes the skater’s head to come close to the ice while spinning. However, in one terrifying moment, Ariel’s head smacked the ice as the Prince lost his footing, and they both spilled onto the ice as the crowd gasped.

The video went viral after being shared on TikTok and has been viewed more than 9 million times. The skater grasped her head after the fall, but the duo quickly got up and appeared to be okay. Given the extent of the fall, the duo skated off the ice and waved to the crowd as the curtain closed.
