Quavo To Pick up Bobby Shmurda Upon Prison Release

Quavo Stars in 'Crash Bandicoot' Trailer

The time has finally arrived for the release of Bobby Shmurda. After serving nearly 7 years in prison, the GS9 rapper is set to be released on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The welcome back festivities will be abundant as Shmurda has been missed throughout his prison stint. While behind bars, he has been able to remain virtual on the scene, and now his physical presence will be felt.

Shmurda’s mother, Leslie Pollard, spoke to TMZ regarding her son’s release. She said that he will most likely keep a low profile upon his release and enjoy time with family before heading back into the booth to work on music. Pollard also states that he is anxious to get back to creating to make up for the lost time.

Shmurda’s release date was moved up to Feb. 23, which is 10 months earlier than the original date.

Well it looks like the low profile may be a little premature. In a recent interview, Migos rapper, Quavo, stated that he will personally pick up Bobby upon his release.

“I’m going to get my guy,” said Honcho. “I’m personally gonna go pick up Bobby Shmurda. I’m bout to go get him. I’m gonna let him show you how I’m gonna pick him up, yessir.”

At the same token, Rowdy Rebel also echoed the same excitement about his GS9 brother coming home in a recent interview with Hot 97. Rebel was released from prison back in December 2020.

“We definitely gon’ show up to Summer Jam,” said Rowdy. “I normally wouldn’t speak on my brother’s behalf, but I know my brother ain’t gonna miss Summer Jam … Some things are just mandatory, and Summer Jam is mandatory.”

So much for a low profile as Hip-Hop awaits the return of Bobby Shmurda.
