Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is thanking God after his mother survived a recent car crash in Los Angeles. The former pro-wrestler took to Instagram with a photo of the damage Ata Johnson‘s car sustained. Despite the front, right side of the red Cadillac looking more than a little beat up, Dwayne says his mother is doing “ok.”
“Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night,” Johnson shared on Thursday, indicating the accident likely happened on Wednesday night.
Johnson didn’t give many details about the crash. However, he hinted it took place in Los Angeles after thanking the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department in his post for “being so caring and focused.” He also expressed gratitude for department reps “staying on the phone” and talking him through the incident.
Dwayne also praised his mother’s resilience following this collision and other traumatic life events.
He wrote:
“She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated. This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, head-on collision with a drunk driver, and attempted suicide, She’s a survivor in ways that make angels and miracles real.”

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Encourages Fans To Hug Their Parents After Mother’s Car Crash
In the caption of his IG reveal, Dwyane also encouraged fans to love on their parents before it’s too late. His father, Rocky Johnson, passed away at age 75 over two years ago in January 2020.
The Rock wrote:
“I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad, make sure you hug ‘em hard, cos you never know when you’ll get that 3 am call we never want to get.”

Following his father’s passing, Johnson gifted his mother a brand-new white Cadillac CT5 on Christmas 2021. However, it’s unclear if this was the same car involved in the crash, given the different paint jobs. At the time of the gift-giving, Johnson revealed his mother was overcome “with pure joy” at her new ride.
“I’m so grateful I can do this kinda stuff for my mom, who’s had one helluva life. I don’t take any of it for granted. Neither does she. Merry Christmas ma, enjoy your new ride!!! And your Elvis records. We love you. You deserve a lot more”
